CHRISTMAS AT ANNE AND ROBERTS, and THEIR AMAZING CHRISTMAS VILLAGE

We thought our home looked special at Christmas Time but

Anne and Roberts home is extra , extra special !

They have an English Village spread all around the bottom of  their magnificent  Christmas Tree

12 of our good friends  ( 6 couples ) have been celebrating Christmas together - 2 weeks before Christmas - for over 20 years -

Always at Roberts and Annes because of their atmosphere, and the wonder of Christmas.

We organize the food, so that every body brings everything

 l took these photos at night in muted light, next year l'll take them in the day time.
As there are schools, and cafe's, and every thing you can think of !

RE-UNITING WITH GOOD FRIENDS

My hubby worked at our local radio station for 13 years, and he loved it.

For the last 8 years of these 13 years he was a breakfast presenter and he enjoyed every day.

The only downside was getting up at 4-30 every morning for a 6-30 start, as he had to travel and liked to be organized

He retired 2 years ago and it was great to have breakfast together again instead of with my dog Donna.

No Donna didn't miss out we had breckie all together.

The sad thing about retiring you loose communication with some of the beautiful people you meet.

We decided this was not going to happen and we try to get together every 2 or 3 months for lunch.

This month it was at Julie and Erics with Rae and Marg.

The 6 of us laughed,drank some great wine and the food was delicious.
There is a saying l like !

Make new friends, but keep the old.
One in silver, one in gold.

RUSHWORTH 100 YEARS AGO

We have some great friends in Rushworth who love the bush.

Dinky Di Australians who travel everywhere and often go gold detecting.

But they always come back to gold rush town of Rushworth-their home base.

We have been to see them many times and enjoyed our underground meals, camp oven roasts and stews. When they go gold detecting in Rushworth they often find precious pieces of old glass, china, old coins,engraved tin gun pouches etc.

l knew l had to preserve these special pieces. 

My hubby found me a large piece of strong aluminum checker plate.

l glued all the precious vintage items they had given me on to this.

lt took me one whole year to complete my mosaic. 

Many of the pieces are over 100 years old from Rushworth's Gold Rush Era.

At the old Whroo Cemetery in Rushworth, engraved on a very old tombstone is this saying.

 Remember me as you pass by,

As you are now so once was l,

As l am now as you will be,

Prepare yourself to follow me.

When l die my large wall hanging will be donated to the Rushworth Museum as it is part of their history.
