LITTLE BATTLERS -- CHILDREN WITH A MESSAGE

5 CHILDREN WITH LIMB DEFICIENCIES, LITTLE BATTLERS AND THEIR STORIES.

I n this weeks "New Idea Magazine " in the " real life "section are 5 beautiful children
One of them is Kaley, my sister Janice's granddaughter.
My niece Shari's daughter.
Kaley is 11 years old and lives in Warragal, Victoria
Her Mum- Shari, Dad - David, and brother Ryan are very proud of her

 KALEY'S STORY

When Kaley was 14 months old her lower leg was amputated (below the knee ) due to a deformity.
She has always had a happy, determined little nature, overcoming many obstacles
Each year as she has grown she has received a new leg ( or foot as Kaley calls it )
She has enjoyed being able to choose what can be painted on it,
This year she has chosen black with red flames, over the years she has had dolphins, the sun ,etc.

Kaley swims like a dolphin ,sings like an angel, and loves acting, at the moment she has been chosen to sing and act at the Warragal Theatre Company

As promised in my last blog, I would give you the recipe for
The lamington cakes that form Humptys brick wall

As you can see this is the book the recipe was in, but I found it in the
"Womens Weekly Magazine "
The ideas with the chocolate eggs, snake lollies, chocolate beetles, etc. are easy to copy

But I make my own Lamington Recipe
They are an Australian, so I always make them for Australia Day or any time of the year.
My menfolk are not partial to cakes much but they just LOVE LAMINGTONS.

To find this recipe, just press the picture on the right hand side that says FOOD ( the 10th picture down )
All my recipes are there, I think its the 3rd story
Happy Baking !

EASTER FINDS, EASTER MARKET, EASTER AT HOME

The Easter Bunny on our front door is getting rather old now, but he still gives a cheery - WELCOME

My 2 Easter Market finds, nothing really exciting, but I think they are cute.

We went to the Easter Market in Rushworth on Saturday,
how do these little Towns do it.
1,000's of people were there,100's of stalls, bands and rock and roll dancing.
An Easter Parade that we missed , There were so many people there that we didn't see our son Rodd and family
The children loved the baby animals

A friendly white rat that ran around with all the baby animals

We had lunch with our son Jody and his Sonia, at this unique Cafe  called MOTO ( I think )
A motor bike cafe
Rushworth is different a very unique, very arty, old town

This Cafe is large and has 3 windows at the front!

I shall have to replace this photo next rime I go back, as their are too many reflections.
This 3rd window is full of old motor bikes etc.

Some market finds, a mini, white chocolate, easter mudcake  and the most beautiful, dark red roses

Easter Sunday at our home,-- I love this photo --  with my hubby, 2 of my sons, Kyle  and Rodd and my 92 year old Mum,Thelma, --  their Nana
Donna, our dog

Floyd with his bunny
We did have an easter egg hunt with the kids, but it happened so fast I didn't take photos

Do you like this Humpty Dumpty Easter Cake I made with Lamjngtons,
They will be in my next blog

AN UPDATE ON MY CHRISTMAS, MOSAIC, BOLLARD FOR APRIL

Well I have now spent 86 hours on my 6 foot mosaic concrete bollard !

27 hours in February, 51 hours in March and 8 hours so far in April

I have finished most of the other side ,but it takes 4 men to turn it over.
I should be nearly finished in May ???

LOST DOGGY

ISN'T SHE SO CUTE -

This little dog wandered into our yard and stayed for 2 days.
My grandchildren just loved her. Sarah and Jakob were staying with us for the day.
We looked underneath and figured she was a girl, so the children called her " Flower"

Our little dog " Donna " took to her straight away The dogs were feed, played with, with tiaras on their heads, ( Princesses ) then sat on the lounge chair, under blankets watching a d.v.d.
Played with  outside and explored every corner.

(That was the easiest child minding day I have ever had. )

As' Flower ' was here all weekend the Shire Offices weren't open, so 1st thing Monday morning I rang quoting the number on her dog tag.
The lady said " Is the dog a  small, white and tan female Jack Russel Terrier ",
to which I replied YES!
She then said she would get in touch with the owner, and then she in turn would get in touch with me.

The  owner Geraldine was overjoyed to get her little dog back, and the dogs name was " Abbey"
She lived over  1 kilometre away so she had wandered a fair way .
Sooooo glad I found the owner, sure pays to get your dog registered.

Although I think our dog Donna was pleased to see her go as she had taken over her kennel.

YES, I HAVE JUST BOUGHT ANOTHER FROGGIE HOME,  I  HAVE MADE QUITE A FEW AT MY CERAMIC CLASS

I wonder how many l have made?
My camera has found 8 frogs in my garden.

I just love water features, so I have lots of real frogs. To-day with my grandchildren, we found lots of little tadpoles swimming around. I told them they would lose their tales and turn into frogs
Of course they wanted to know why ?, so I just told them it was magic.
